Corrections & Factual Inquiries
Accuracy is the cornerstone of our journalism. When we make an error of fact, we are committed to correcting it promptly, thoroughly, and transparently.
Our Corrections Policy
If an article contains an error of fact—such as a misspelled name, inaccurate statistic, misattributed quote, or factual misunderstanding of a civic record—we will update the article and append an explicit, timestamped correction notice at the bottom or top of the story.
We do not quietly modify published articles without noting the nature of the correction. Clarifications are published when the factual information was accurate but incomplete or potentially misleading.
What to Include When Reporting an Error
- The article headline and URL
- The publication where the story appeared (e.g., Walnut Creek Times, Danville Times)
- The specific text or factual statement in question
- Documentation, primary records, or contact information verifying the correct information
